On 8 October I went out to photograph Barcelona with Gianni Prest, an Italian photographer who came along with his wife. There was a lovely atmosphere from the very first moment, and he enjoyed it enormously: we followed a route from sunset into the night, from Torre Glòries to the Sagrada Família by way of Montjuïc.
From Torre Glòries to the Sagrada Família
We made three stops, from the late-afternoon light to full night.
1Torre Glòries at sunset
We started in daylight, with the sunset glow, at Torre Glòries, formerly Torre Agbar. It is the Jean Nouvel building that opened in 2005: it is 144 metres tall and its façade changes with the light in the sky.

2Montjuïc, after dark
Then we headed to Montjuïc, where Gianni had a fantastic time. There you have the Palau Nacional, home of the MNAC, and Carles Buïgas’s Magic Fountain, both built for the 1929 International Exhibition.
And between them stand Puig i Cadafalch’s Four Columns: built in 1919, torn down in 1928 and rebuilt in 2010. With the Magic Fountain changing colour behind them, every shot comes out different.

3The Sagrada Família to finish
And to finish, the Sagrada Família, Gaudí’s great masterpiece, lit up at night.

A video with his best photos
After the tour I edit a video with the best photos and send it on WhatsApp. That way, as well as their own photos, clients take home a keepsake of the route to share with whoever they like.
Thank you so much Agustín. I really like it and it’s a beautiful memory.
Would you like a private tour made for you?
I plan the route around what you want to photograph, your level and your gear. And at the end you take home your photos and a video of the best ones.
