It is the historiographical name given to a movement of Architecture, Art and Literature. It is the main form of expression in architecture, but many other arts were involved, such as painting and sculpture, and especially the design and the decorative arts, woodwork, carpentry, wrought iron, ceramics, glass manufacturing, silver and goldsmiths which were particularly important, especially in its role in supporting architecture.
It is equivalent to Art Nouveau in France and Belgium, Jugendstil in Germany, Secession in Austria-Hungary, Liberty style in Italy and Modern Style in Glasgow and Scotland was active from about 1888, the First Fair World Barcelona until 1911 .
In this Photo Tour, first we will see Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau, a masterpiece of architect Lluis Domenech i Muntaner, master Antonio Gaudí. In 1978, the modernist complex was classified as a Historic Artistic Monument and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Of the same architect Lluis Domenech i Muntaner is our next visit of the Photo Tour or PhotoWalk, The Palau de la Música CATALANA, is a music auditorium located in the neighborhood of Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, in the center of Barcelona. The construction was carried to term between 1905 and 1908, with solutions in the highly advanced structure, a structure of metallic core stabilized by a system of buttresses of Gothic inspiration and perimeter laps, with the application of large glass walls and the integration of applied arts in sculpture, mosaic, glass and wrought iron. In 1997, UNESCO included the building in its Common Heritage. The pictures you can get are spectacular.
We resume the Photo Tour and We continue the Photo Tour and we will visit the Casa Batllo and La Pedrera, made by architect Antonio Gaudi, located in the center and modernist Paseo de Gracia. Their structures, with solutions that are reflected in the nature and sea, allow us to approach the universe of Gaudí, a genius in his time and be able to photograph areas that we marked in our memory.
